Blood Types

Human blood is grouped into four types: A, B, AB, and O. Each letter refers to a kind of antigen, or protein, on the surface of red blood cells. For example, the surface of red blood cells in Type A blood has antigens known as A-antigens.

Blood group O is believed by D'Adamo to be the hunter, the earliest human blood group. The diet recommends that this blood group eat a higher protein diet. D'Adamo bases this on the belief that O blood type was the first blood type, originating 30,000 years ago.

Blood group A is called the cultivator by D'Adamo, who believes it to be a more recently evolved blood type, dating back from the dawn of agriculture, 20,000 years ago. The diet recommends that individuals of blood group A eat a diet emphasizing vegetables and free of red meat, a more vegetarian food intake.

Blood group B is, according to D'Adamo, the nomad, associated with a strong immune system and a flexible digestive system. The blood type diet claims that people of blood type B are the only ones who can thrive on dairy products and estimates blood type B arrived 10,000 years ago.

Blood group AB, according to D'Adamo, the enigma, the most recently evolved type, arriving less than 1,000 years ago. In terms of dietary needs, his blood type diet treats this group as an intermediate between blood types A and B.

I was the one who voted I don't know my type. But this information sounds pretty interesting. I do know that type O is the blood type that can donate to the other 3 types. O is the universal donor...Hey Zaharah is that right?

Handling Stress ( Type A)

In this busy, ever changing world, it's almost impossible to avoid every day stress. Type As have a naturally high level of the stress hormone cortisol and produce more in response to stressful situations. Cortisol is released in 24-hour patterns, typically in the early morning between six and eight A.M. with a gradual decrease during the day. It helps to cue the body's other cyclical rhythms. Due to the naturally elevated cortisol in type As, additional stress often manifests in several ways; disrupted sleep patterns, daytime brain fog, increased blood viscosity (thickening), and promotes muscle loss and fat gain. In extreme cases in Type As, stress can manifest in more serious ways, causing obsessive-compulsive disorder, insulin resistance and hypothyroidism. To help balance cortisol levels, Dr. D'Adamo recommends that you limit sugar, caffeine and alcohol. Don't skip meals, especially breakfast; eating smaller, more frequent meals will also help to stabilize blood sugar levels. He also points out that the following factors are known to increase cortisol levels and increase mental exhaustion for Type As - be aware and limit your exposure when possible:

  • Crowds of people
  • Loud noise
  • Negative emotions
  • Smoking
  • Strong smells or perfumes
  • Too much sugar and starch
  • Overwork
  • Violent TV and movies
  • Lack of sleep
  • Extreme weather conditions (hot or cold)

When I saw this i was so shocked because i feel it relates to me so much...Z

Please forum I am not promoting unhealthy eating or what others may not agree with or anything that is not allowed in Islam. I posted the charts as I saw these were the best examples. Please refer to the web site I posted below...Thanks Zaharah

Mashallah and Welcome Guest101
I'm glad your interested in this information I found it very interesting. There are certain foods that ive noticed along the years if I eat them they do not agree with me thru some being allergic reactions. Ex: Oranges
I had to go to hospital with shortness of breath and various things, it was oranges so when I saw it on my list to avoid i was completely shocked and many people i know with different types having things happening to them as well. I wanted to make all brothers and sisters aware of this so there began this Thread Please pass along to others to join us for a better health. Also see our thread "Top 100 healthy Foods"
Bring others to learn for the sake of Allah

Sorry but I don´t trust kind of ideas as eat by suitable ways what is your blood type. Eating and blood type hasn´t anything together.

It is so called blabla- science. Also in traditional Chinese medication has kind of ideas.

Assalimu Alaikum Sister Harb I respect your thinking and your ideas, Mashallah. I started seeing the actual blood results. I had my Dr. draw my blood and look for certain things because Ive been in the medical field and I knew what to look for. I had had issues with my blood pressure and have tried all and even loosing 35 pounds and it was still up. So she just ask me one day what was my blood type and I said A....then it was like a light went off in our heads so I cut the meats exc fish and chicken and wt out my meats but up the veges and fruit and I was amazed. My pressure was the lowest it has been in years and I feel so much better All Praise Due to AllahI Prayed so hard for a solution and I wanted to share just in case other's are going through the same....Let us ALL pray for the Deen, In Sha Allah

Here is no science evedence that some blood type peopler should eat only some kind of food. If you still want to do so, then eat. But don´t try to make it science to others!
